So today I read some more literature on my mind being the real force behind my actions.
And it had a simple formula to put our target much beyond what we think we can achieve so we at least can achieve what we can achieve.
I put this to test in a simple way as I tried to do more push-ups. Normally I excercise for about 10 minutes a day, 3 days a week. Ooops cat is out! Nevermind. In this small excercise routine I do 3 sets of 10 push-ups each. So I barely manage 30 push ups per excercise routine and it has been my belief since long that I can comfortably do 10 and push it to 15 at a stretch.
Today, I told myself I am gonna do each rep of 30 push ups and thus a total of 90 push ups in 3 reps. I just told myself I will do this no matter what….i will be down on my arms till a single push up remains. Hmm so what happened?
Well, I did 25 push ups in first rep, 25 in the second and 23 in the last, So I managed 73 push ups today and the driving force this more than 100% increase in my output has only been the fact that I told myself I am gonna do it irrespective of my physical ability. WOW! The mind truly is the real cause of all things…internal and external
I will to do more such experiments in other areas to get to my true potential and also encourage you to try this at home.
